Common problems

Start with the usual question: at which moment did it stop? Building, publishing, triggering, and running fail for different reasons.

While building

SymptomCauseWhat to do
I cannot save: conflictSomeone else changed the draftReload and reapply your change
A value does not appear in the pickerIt comes from a step that runs laterReorder the flow
"The item" does not appearYou are outside the "For each item" stepThose sources only exist inside the loop
A tool appears as not allowedThe space has not allowed itSee Allowed resources
A tool appears as "not confirmed"It could not be checked right nowUse the check-again button

While publishing

Publishing validates everything before creating the version. The most common refusals:

MessageMeaningWhat to do
Unreachable stepIt is not reached from the startConnect it to the flow
Step with no exitOnly the Result may have no exitConnect it to the next step
Cycle between stepsThe flow loops back on itselfRedo that section
No ResultEvery agent needs at least oneAdd the Result step
Reference to a later stepA value is used before it existsReorder, or use a different value
Address not allowedThe host is not on the space's listAsk for it to be allowed
A value that looks like a credentialA key written straight into a headerUse a secret reference
Limit above the ceilingThe agent declares more than the space allowsReduce it, or ask for the ceiling to be reviewed
No service accountAI steps require a service accountSee Service account
Version already usedEach number is unique within the agentChoose the next one

While triggering

SymptomCauseWhat to do
The schedule does not fireThe version it points to is no longer activeCheck the environment's active version
The schedule stopped after a changeThe input data no longer fitsFix the schedule's data
The HTTP call returns an invalid credentialA wrong credential, or a nonexistent identifierCheck both
The HTTP call refuses the inputThe data does not match what the agent declaresAdjust the body
The HTTP call returns limit reachedRate, concurrency, or sizeSee HTTP addresses
The address expireddevelopment addresses are temporaryCreate another, or make it permanent in production

While running

SymptomLikely causeWhat to do
Immediate failureNo active version in the environment, or an inactive service accountSee Publishing
An AI step fails because the output does not match the formatA declared field did not come backReduce the fields or make the objective more explicit
An AI step fails because it asked for informationThe objective depends on something not handed overComplete the input data
An external call is blockedThe destination resolved to an internal addressConfirm the system's public address
The run expiresThe total deadline ran outRaise the timeout or reduce the work
The run looks stuckIt is waiting for an approval, a wait, or a retryCheck the current step in the timeline
A child run failedThe problem is in the called agentOpen the child run

When the result "worked" but does not look right

Two causes, in this order:

  1. An error was handled by a diversion. The result declares the steps with handled failures. Look for that list before anything else.
  2. The AI step had nothing to verify. With no declared fields and no required tool, nothing allows stating that it met its objective. See AI task.

When to ask for help

Have these at hand:

  • the agent and the version;
  • the run's identifier;
  • which step it stopped at and the error code.

With that, whoever helps sees the same timeline you do.
